May 2010 - Sydney & the Boys
The night before Mother's Day Meredith and Terry hosted a dinner with us and Marcus & Kathy. It was a great chance for the kids to get together and play. We tried to get a picture of us with our niece and nephews - but they were difficult to wrangle all together for a picture. We still got a couple cute shots. They were happy to stick our their tongues when that suggestion was made.

March 2010 - Kerry's Wedding and our weekend in Galena, IL
Griffin and I went to my cousin Kerry's wedding in Dubuque, IA. It was a fabulous wedding and a great party. Griffin and I stayed at a friend's condo in Galena, IL and had a mini-vacation of our own. It was a wonderful weekend. The weather was beautiful and we were able to spend a lot of timing walking around and enjoying the outdoors. Galena is such a cute town. My brother Ricky and his girlfriend Surhee came for part of the time and we enjoyed spending the time with them as well. We stopped at a popcorn shoppe that had a ton of different flavors and tried a bunch of different ones. I loved the kettle corn and white cheddar popcorn - but stupidly I also tried a hot flavor. I had no idea it would be so hot! I was sweating, coughing, crying and in pain.....it was terrible.

The owner of the popcorn shoppe that gave me the couple of pieces of popcorn that set my mouth on fire. I was coughing and crying - and almost threw up. He felt bad and offered me ice cream and lots of water to help calm my mouth down.

3/13/2010 - Spaghetti 101
My Grandma Johnson makes the best homemade spaghetti and meatballs. She gave us the recipe but Meredith and I really wanted to make it with her to truly learn the recipe. We got together on a Saturday for our "Spaghetti 101". It was such a fun day spending the time with my Grandma (and Mom and Meredith) cooking in the kitchen and in the end I also had a huge batch of sauce and meatballs to take home for dinner with Griffin. It was a wonderful day!
